News Round Up: Season 2001: The season began with concerns
over the Foot and Mouth epidemic with confirmed cases on Anglesey
and the closure
of Snowdonia National Park and all footpaths. Fortunately for
our area, the disease did not stray over the Menai Straits and
many restrictions were lifted in time for Easter. In fact the
Easter holidays along with the bank holidays in May proved to
be as busy in the village as ever. August brought a mix of weather with unfortunately no prolonged settled spell - maybe next year? It was also another busy year for SCYC with the dinghy, mirror and keelboat weeks as good as ever. The One Ton Cup was held in Pwllheli in early September - a highly prestigious event and a bonus for the Llyn. In mid September the European 1720 championships were hosted by SCYC with a big fleet and an even bigger beer consumption! For results for the year click here. Other
