Friday 09/05/2008: 7.55am: Update 12.20pm

Summary: Misty.

Today: Its misty and murky first thing with the odd spot of drizzle and it looks like remaining so for much of the morning. The mist and low cloud may linger on and off all day but there is the chance of some breaks appearing in the cloud cover at times this afternoon. There is also a shower risk, but these may be more of an issue inland. Feeling warm. 12.20pm - Still overcast here but the mist has lifted so we could see some brighter weather this afternoon.

Tonight: Very mild and misty.

Saturday: A misty start, but the forecasts are suggesting it will brighten up through the day and so there is a reasonable chance of some very warm sunny spells for the afternoon. Possibility of a shower during the day, but with luck we will stay dry. Warm temperatures for the time of year and feeling very warm in any sunshine.

Sunday: Continuing very warm for the time of year with variable cloud and some sunshine.

Monday / Tuesday: Continuing very warm for the time of year with variable cloud and some sunshine.

Further Outlook: The latest Met Office extended outlook is shown below.

"UK Outlook for Wednesday 14 May 2008 to Friday 23 May 2008:
The middle of next week will start dry and warm in many places, though a few sharp showers are likely to bubble up again in the afternoons, more especially in central, western and southern parts. Late next week or early the week after, it is likely to turn increasingly unsettled across the country with some showers or longer spells of rain spreading eastwards across all parts. Any rain is likely to be most frequent over western parts of the UK. The latter part of the period is likely to be rather mixed with some drier, sunnier weather, but also some showers. Rather warm or warm conditions are expected to last through next week and into the weekend, although temperatures may drop to nearer normal during the second week. Updated: 1201 on Fri 9 May 2008."
